Lambs Quarter and Lilac blooms

Post by Watchman »

From dejure's post:
Working on three thousand or so projects, having just gotten back to the farm, after ten years. Setting up gardens and such is a big part of the project agenda. Fortunately, some of the "gardening" might better be called foraging. We picked lambs-quarter and lilac blooms for salads yesterday. Great addition for bulk and I suspect the quality of produce far outstrips what is available down town.

Lambsquarters are wonderfull and are called the caddilac of greens, sold in markets in britain right next to the lettice, and chard, one of the best tasting and most common here in the east, square stems, goose foot shaped leaves,
( hence name goose foot )...

But in all my years of foraging I've never tried lilac blooms..........Thanks.
