You can never have too much firewood.

Here it is, June 24th and while the rest of the country is having record breaking hot temperatures, we are having another go at winter with rain and very cool temperatures. It was 48 last night but has warmed up to 54 at noon. Its snowing in the higher elevations above 4000 feet. Yesterday we were sitting indoors wearing our winter coats when I finally broke down and decided to build a fire in the woodstove. A fire only a week before the fourth of July is highly irregular and I'm glad I had some cured firewood leftover from last winter. I have about one and a half cords left and its always good to keep a reserve on hand as a backup for emergency use like now, and to burn in the fall when the new wood is still slightly green.
