Freezing Berries

Post by Toepopper »

Due to an overabundance of red raspberries this year we have started to freeze them for long term storage. I have been picking a large 64 ounce tub full every day without fail so we have been washing them in cold water, then drip dry before placing in mason jars and sticking in the freezer. We have never done this before with berries but thought we would give it a try so we could have berries year around. :D

Berries freeze very well. When we lived in extreme northern Maine us and the kids would go out and pick wild blueberries, raspberries and strawberries and freeze them for later use. Extending the harvest!
