There Is Something Deeply Wrong With The Prepper Movement

The prepper movement has degenerated into a hodge-podge of “paytriots” trying to make a buck. No one in their right mind will debate that prepping is probably the most important challenge of our lives, but most don’t give a s*** because there are more important things on their minds such as sports, beer, celebrities, and the latest TV shows and movies. What they don’t see is that none of this is worth a whit if the SHTF! These citizens do NOT prepare for calamities, natural or man-made, that can destroy their earthly wealth and their families. They have adopted the attitude that if SHTF ‘I’ll come to your house and take what you have stocked up on.’ The attitude has been solidified in their brains that they do not care for their own families, nor, say someone else's. The mantra is I will take what you have, even if it means violence or worse. Popular TV shows (see how people spend their time?) have painted preppers as complete idiots, even though as a whole, we are dead serious about what we do and why we do!

All this could be avoided and an ever-widening circle of security and preparedness would develop if citizens weren’t so lazy and took advantage of the tons of free knowledge and how-to information readily available to them. Recall the old saying about ‘give them a fish and feed them for a day; teach them the knowledge of how to fish and feed them for a lifetime.’ If a family, together, made the commitment to prep and learn, they could be well on their way to more security than they already have --- and in a short period of time. It just takes a commitment and a desire to save your family from hardship and physical and mental pain and anxiety. Instead, they will f*** around until it is too late and then expect others to take care of them. If you are a prepper you can bet your ass that some people in your circle of friends and family will come knocking at your door!

There is intense competition within the prepper movement – I sell better stuff than you do – I have a better blog than yours, and so on. Instead of all preppers [and businesses] working together to educate and solve this bugaboo, it is a situation of enhancing the bottom line. An enhanced bottom line now means nothing if an EMP weapon hits the atmosphere of the United States. We are ten seconds away from complete anarchy, the loss of the infrastructure (energy, heat, food, health care, civil order, and the surmised loss of a third to two-thirds of the US population. How many people buy the farm will depend on how hungry others are.

You can do something about this and now! Find yourself a good forum or community of preppers who teach [for free] and make a resolve that you will do the same thing in return. ‘We teach, you learn’ – ‘you teach, we learn’.

It’s a two-way street and this forum is the one!
