FEEDER PIGS

Post by cowboy38229 »

I haven't raised any pigs in 2 or3 years but i was at the sale barn two weeks ago and saw 10 ,30 lbs.feeder pigs for sale, actually they were sold on the trailer before he got out of his truck for 15.00 per head .I thought that was cheap till i check the market prices for feeder pigs. Market prices for feeder pigs 30 to 40 lbs is 8.50 to 10.00 each here in Tn.
Pigs being fairly simple to raise and slaughter it could be a good investment for next fall.
The last one i had killed at the slaughter house weighed 400 lbs. and cost $92.00 to have it ground into sausage .It made 198 lbs of sausage and 20 lbs. of ribs.
anyone wanting to know about raising some pork give me a holler.
